black and white bridal shower invitations

Love these simple shower invitations, a collaboration with Suzy Lee of Dear Darling Calligraphy. That girl can WRITE.

Also, in case you didn't hear, printing services are up on the website! You can now easily order custom photo cards (like the above) along with greeting cards, stationery, envelopes and even custom liners. Super excited to make your designs come to life.

hello little love | baby shower invitations

One of my dearest friends is having a baby this spring! I created custom invitations for her Valentine's shower with a watercolor heart motif throughout. Such a fun, sweet project to work on.

To make these I hand-painted a variety of watercolor hearts and scanned them into Photoshop along with custom calligraphy.  I also painted a solid area of watercolor to use as a custom liner. I had a tough time deciding between the heart pattern/solid watercolor for the backer/ you think I made the right choice? I think it could go either way, but something about the sprinkling of hearts on the back of the invitation is just too sweet.

These are giclée printed on 118# Reich Savoy (100% cotton) paper.

And just for fun, here's a screenshot from the moment after Allison announced (via Skype) that she's pregnant. :) I love you, Al, and baby girl Mathias too!

Monique's Baby Shower

My dear friend Monique is having a baby in several weeks!! I had the pleasure of creating the invitations for her shower. She picked out the colors and the chevron pattern based on decisions they made for Baby Penny's nursery and I loved the pale orange + mint together. I overlaid the chevron pattern with a subtle watercolor design to get some slight variation in the color. We used gray top-open envelopes which worked out great with the oversized hang tag shape!

Monique's mom and sisters threw her the most adorable party! There were so many thoughtful details and the food was amazing. It was a huge blessing to be able to be there (the day we were packing up our trailer!) although it kills me that I won't be around for the birth of her sweet baby--the gender of whom is yet to be determined :) Luke and I are so blessed to have Monique and her husband Gavin in our lives. We miss them so much and can't wait for precious Baby Penny to arrive.

Mo, I love you and miss you so much! You're going to be an AMAZING mommy.

Allison & Andrew's Pink & Blind Letterpress Invitations

Amidst our crazy whirlwind month, we were lucky to share a few days in Rochester celebrating Allison and Andrew's wedding. It was so fun to be a part of it and we are so blessed by their friendship! Early in their engagement, Allison asked me to help her create a simple yet elegant design for their invitations. I decided to keep the color scheme incredibly simple and crisp using only deep pink (a color which also made an appearance in her bridesmaid dresses) paired with a blind embossed hydrangea (one of Al's favorites). I loved the final result and I think it fit her gorgeous wedding perfectly. Many, many thanks to my good friend Amy at greengirlpress for doing such a perfect letterpress job! Amy, you're the best!

The save the date corresponded with the rest of the invitation suite without the luxury of letterpress...

So glad I was able to drop in and show you these invites. I really enjoyed creating these for such a wonderful friend! Wishing Allison & Andrew a happy honeymoon and first week of marriage. I love you both!

I feel badly that I've been MIA...this is really the first opportunity I've had to get caught up on blogging or any other social media since our move. I'm about to go on a long break from blogging again as we leave for Honduras tomorrow through the end of the month. I can't wait to share photos from our trip and fill you in on our experiences. Hoping the rest of your July is sunny, relaxing, not too hot, and full of family & friends! See you in August!

Becca & Bobby's Blue and Lace Wedding Invitations

On Wednesday morning, Luke and I hopped in the car and drove 12 hours from our home in SC to Buffalo, NY. In a group of four very close girlfriends, I was the first to get married; Becca is the second! Her wedding today is going to be a time of joy and celebration, and I've already had plenty of opportunity for that as I've reconnected with lots of college friends these past few days. It's been a blast and I can't wait for the wedding (and to see her in her gorgeous wedding gown).

In light of Becca's wedding, I wanted to share her invitations which I had the privilege of creating for her. I wanted them to be sleek and cohesive, yet playful, using only blue and white with a touch of red (to match the colors in Bobby's kilt). Becca is wearing a lace dress, so I collected spools of wide lace for jackets and tied it up with the same red embroidery thread you saw on her save the dates.

Becca wanted me to incorporate the thistle, a scottish flower full of symbolism, into her wedding suite, so I added this detail to match the floral wreath at the top.

The RSVP cards were two-sided to make room for a heartfelt note from guests.

Each envelope was hand-stamped and embossed in a crisp white. Like the addressing I did with a white pen, it really stood out against the rich blue envelopes. I loved how the ornate florals of the monogram on this stamp tied into the lace details of the invitation jackets.

I'm so happy for you, Bobby and Becca!
